Model Locomotive 1115

Locomotive 1115 is from Siping Locomotive Depot of the Changchun Railway Sub-administration and had a nine-member crew. During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, all them volunteered to go to the DPRK battlefield. Under the leadership of head driver Li Guoheng, they undertook the task of transporting war materials. During the ten-month safe running from Sariwon to Sinmak in DPRK, they ensured that large quantities of war materials were sent to the front in time. In 1951, Locomotive 1115 was named “Model Locomotive” and the whole team were awarded the title of “Collective Outstanding Service”, and Li Guoheng was conferred “the First-Class Merit Citation” and the title of “Second-Class Hero”.
